Pre-requisite: Student must be familiar with the 1910-146 OSHA standard for confined space entry.

Progressive Rescue Technician I/II:

Progressive Rescue Confined Space Technician I/II. This 40 hour course is recommended for all rescue personal, who will be responding to permit required confined space rescues. Emphasis is on all areas of the OSHA 1910-146 standard, including:  filling out a permit, air monitoring, ventilation, SAR breathing systems, communications etc. The course includes hands on practice dealing with Tripods, Mechanical Advantage Systems, lowering systems, safely reaching, securing, stabilizing and if possible packaging the patient for extraction in a confined space.  The course begins with an in depth talk on the OSHA 1910-146 standard, Safety rules, Rescue Equipment, Rescue Knots, Anchors and Anchoring systems.  The class then moves outside for hands on training which will include 3 days spent performing multiple scenarios covering as many different types of confined space rescues as possible. This Course meets the NFPA 1006 and 1670 for Confined Space Technician. This course will allow you to accomplish all practical skills necessary to meet the Indiana State Certification standard. We recommend you take a PRT I/II before attending this class.
