Description: PRT Tower/Antenna I/II: This class has been designed to meet the requests from departments for a simple solution to tower/antenna rescues. The class will begin with a review of the 1926.500-503 OSHA standard for fall protection. In addition, the OSHA approved equipment to do the rescues will be discussed in detail. There will be a review of rope rescue equipment, anchoring, knots, mechanical advantage systems and patient packaging. We will then progress to multiple scenarios designed to test the limits of both the students’ knowledge and ability to deal with adverse situations. This class will be both physically and mentally demanding so please come prepared. Class size limited to 18 students. Prerequisite for this class is PRT I/II

Description: Progressive Rescue Technician I/II: is a 40 hour course in Rope Rescue Techniques. The course was developed to enable the student to combine the Progressive Rescue Technician Courses I and II in a convenient five day package. The course begins with a classroom review of equipment, knots, and safety, the class then moves outside for “hands on” work with anchoring, belaying, mechanical advantage raising systems, Lowering systems, Patient Packaging and Highline Lines. We will do as many high and low angle Scenarios as time will permit. This course meets NFPA 1006 and 1670 standards. Arrangements will be made for Indiana State written exam for Rope Rescue Technician through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security so that those who attend the class can become certified.
Students will need to bring their own helmet, boots, gloves, and headlamps. You should also bring any other personal gear that you already have, such as your rescue harness. PRS, Inc. will provide all of the equipment that will be used. Optional: Goggles (or some form of eye protection) knee pads, thermos for water, etc.
Students will be responsible for their own lodging and meals. Upon receipt of your completed registration form and payment, a list of motels and a map of the local area will be forwarded to you along with your confirmation letter.
